Wood sculptures and other relics found at ancient Chan Chan Complex

Trujillo (La Libertad region) Four wood sculptures —three male and one female— a scepter, metal vessels, textiles and remains of winkles were found at Chayhuac An —probably the first large enclosure at the pre-Columbian adobe city of Chan Chan in northern La Libertad region. The ancient objects were found lying on a funerary platform.

Nacsa meets Japanese Terror

Japanese horror film, Nasca Yuukai, filmed on location in the vicinity of the Nasca Lines UNESCO World Heritage site, hit the big screen this week. True to the style of Japanese horror films, it tells the story of four young Japanese tourists stranded in the Nasca desert where they are kidnapped by Mara, an old woman from the area who has two children with the appearance of reptiles, the result of some paranormal contact.

Lord of Sipan Bust Revealed

Peru celebrated the 30th anniversary of the discovery of pre-Inca leader Lord of Sipan presenting a bust of the ruler during a ceremony at Huaca Rajada-Sipan Museum in northern Lambayeque region. The Andean country thus materialized Lord of Sipan's 3D face, recreated by Brazilian expert Cicero Moraes in cooperation with Lima-based Inca Garcilaso de la Vega University.

New rules for visiting Machu Picchu

The "Decentralized Culture Bureau of Cusco" has changed the visiting times to the citadel of Machupicchu as of the 1st July 2017. The two entry periods for visiting are now:06:00 to 12:0012:00 to 17:30 The use of a tour guide is now mandatory.
